Question [May. 22nd, 2005|06:20 pm]
Fat Acceptance
Has anyone flown lately? I don't know if this is the right place to ask/post sorry if it's not, but I'm supposed to be on the East Coast next month and I still haven't booked my flight/hotel because I'm freaking out about flying. Not out of fear, but because I'm afraid I won't fit in one seat. I know airlines like Southwest will charge you twice or for two seats, and I'm afraid of the aisle sizes etc. I'm just wondering if anyone knows which airline has the biggest seats/space etc. Believe it or not there is not a lot of information available online about this issue only that you can get refunds etc. Please help if you can, thanx. *cross-posted*

Hi there. Hope what I have to say is helpful. Last year I twice flew over to England from the East Coast USA, on an 7 hour flight. I was very concerned about this too, and though the seats werent the most comfortable for a long flight, it really wasnt that bad. I always made sure to ask for an extra belt as soon as I boarded, even though I was rather self conscious about this, and I didnt get any hassle about it. It went really smoothly. Both times I flew Continental, and my understanding is that Continental is not necessarily known for spacious seating in fact the opposite, but they were the cheapest. I have flown on a Delta flight once before and that was uncomfortable but ok...its good to talk to the ticket desk and try to get a seat next to an empty seat. They can be very accomodating. I guess thats it and I hope you enjoy the trip.
